'Rolls-Royce' the British engine making company revealed plans this week to develop a hybrid electric vehicle, to give it a form of "flying taxi" which takes off and lands vertically and could be airborne within five years. The plan was showed off in Derby in central England at the Farnborough Airshow for the first time, as other players also rush into the market segment.
The company said it hoped to manufacture a prototype version of its electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle within the next 18 months and could potentially take to the skies in the early 2020s. The plane will have seat for four to five people, and can fly upto 500 miles (805 kilometers) with top speed of 200 miles per hour.
Rolls-Royce's head Rob Watson said "in this market, you will see something like this flying within tree to five years, and we will demonstrate the system in two years". He added "At the end of next year we will be flight ready."
People seemed super excited to live in the era of 'Flying taxi'. Humans are moving one step farther in technical world. Unknown about the idea what is coming next in the future wishing the progress of humans but hoping for harmless to the Nature and mother Earth.
