How to find out which version of DirectX you have installed
You can find out which version of DirectX is running on your computer by making use of the DxDiag tool that will be installed on your Windows PC by default. To access this tool simply do the following:
- Click the Start button at the bottom left of your screen.
- Type dxdiag into the search box and press enter.
- Click dxdiag from the search options.
- A window will open up and on the first page of this report you’ll see your DirextX Version in the System Information section.
How to update your DirextX
Updating DirectX is thankfully nice and easy. Windows Update will automatically download and install the latest version when it becomes available.
Alternatively, you can head over to the Microsoft Download Centre and download the DirectX installer, which will scan your system and replace any missing, damaged or corrupt files. After this process has completed you’ll need to restart your machine.
