We’re going to show you how to get Microsoft PowerPoint for free
and all you’re going to need is a free Microsoft account. This method is
perfectly legitimate, but it’s something Microsoft tends to keep fairly quiet
as it would like you to purchase a subscription to Office 365, which does come
with some benefits.
The major downside of accessing PowerPoint via this method is
that you can’t use it when you’re offline, but we do have a buying guide if you
want to purchase a full version.
How to get Microsoft PowerPoint
for Free
The first thing you’re going to need is a free Microsoft
account. Make your way to the Microsoft Office website and make an account, or
log into one that you already have.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll find this screen waiting for you.
At the top, under the ‘Apps’ heading, you’ll find a wide range
of Microsoft applications you can use for free.
These are all known as ‘Web Apps’, which are applications that
run through your browser rather than being installed directly onto your
computer. When you create a PowerPoint presentation here, it will be saved to
your Microsoft OneDrive account which is Microsoft’s cloud storage solution -
you will be able to download a presentation into your computer as well, should
you want to.
As we mentioned earlier, the downside to this method is that you
must have an internet connection to access this service.
