Meet XIDU, the new brand that brings the PhilBook Max to hit the convertible laptop market

After Intel decided to enter the Chinese market, manufacturers from the big country started offering Windows laptops and tablets at great prices compared to the traditional PC manufacturers. So, another newcomer is here and has attracted buyers’ attention with their first two products, the 11.6″ Yoga PhilBook, and the 12.5″ Tour laptop. Both devices went well in the market and now a more powerful model is coming very soon, the PhilBook Max, in the mid ’19.

14.1’’ FHD Multi-touch Screen & Narrow Edge Display

The upgraded PhilBook Max comes with a larger, 14.1″ FHD IPS screen. Besides the quality of the panel and the very narrow bezels, the display is multitouch! That means that you can take advantage of the tablet mode in Windows 10 and use it as a tablet too. This was kind of unexpected for a new brand if we take under consideration that even some traditional brands don’t implement touch capability.

Two-in-one Yoga Laptop, 360°Rotation

What’s special about XIDU PhilBook Max is that it sports a “Yoga” design just like the one found in Lenovo laptops that allows the display to rotate 360°. This way, you can use the PhilBook as a normal laptop, in tent mode, or even as a tablet when the display is rotated by 360°. Switching between a business notebook and a leisure tablet is a piece of cake.

Metal cover, yet light body

Featuring a metal cover, one would think that it is a heavy device. Yet this is not the case. It weighs just 1.39Kg and is very thin, only 16.4mm at its thickest point. Combined with the deep space gray painting, it not only signifies a mature business image but it is modern and fashionable as well.

Backlit Keyboard

One of the biggest flaws found on affordable laptops is the lack of backlight under the keyboard that makes typing at night a nightmare. Thankfully, XIDU has equipped the PhilBook Max with a backlit keyboard and insomniacs can rest assured that they will be able to type even in total dark.

Fast -up to 2.4GHz- CPU

Besides the 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that the PhilBook Max comes with and allows for great multitasking and fast loading times, the heart of the laptop is Intel’s Apollo Lake J3355 14nm CPU that sports two cores and can reach up to 2.4GHz in burst mode. This, combined with the RAM and fast SSD makes the PhilBook Max a fast devil.
The official launch will take place in May. What do you think about it? Do the 360° display and good configuration tempt you to grab one for yourselves?
