Apple silently launches its Apple TV YouTube channel

Videos available on the Apple TV YouTube channel include Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - teaser, Game of Thrones - Final Season Expectations and Game of Thrones - Cast Plays 'Would You Rather' among others.

Apple, last month, hosted an extravagant event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California where it announced a slew of new products and services including the Apple News+ and the Apple Card. Among other things, Apple also announced the Apple TV app along with the Apple TV+ at its event, which will be available in this fall. And now, the tech giant has silently launched a dedicated YouTube channel for its Apple TV.
The new YouTube channel, that was first spotted by MacStories, seems to have debuted around the same time Apple announced its Apple TV app and the Apple TV+ video streaming service and at the time of writing this article it had 8,365 subscribers.
The videos on the newly launched YouTube channel are grouped into categories such as - What's New, Behind the Scenes With, Hot Trailers, Indie Exclusives, Ones to Watch and Carpool Karoke: The Series -- and the tech giant has added a number of new videos in the past couple of days for the viewers to enjoy. The list includes the likes of Drunk Parents: FaceTime - Alec Baldwin, Salma Hayek, Felicity Jones - On the Basis of Sex, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - teaser, Game of Thrones - Final Season Expectations and Game of Thrones - Cast Plays 'Would You Rather'. And in case you missed, the YouTube channel also has video that showcases the Apple Originals coming to the Apple TV+ as introduced by the show makers at the Apple event last month.
The Apple TV app is already available to beta testers who have Apple devices running on iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 and it will be available to the public when the company launches updates to its operating systems later this year. And with the new YouTube, Apple seems to be offering users a glimpse into its content.
Separately, Apple is scheduled to host its annual developers Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2019 in San Jose, California from June 3 to June 7 where it is expected to announce updates to iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS. This includes a system-wide dark mode on iOS 13 and Siri Shortcuts on macOS among other things.
