Here's how to hide Whatsapp images on iPhone or Android gallery

Are you troubled with the overfilled gallery of your Android or iPhone? Then read on to know a simple trick to hide Whatsapp images appearing on your iPhone or Android smartphone’s gallery.

Gallery is probably one of the most cherished places of our device but with the increase in meme culture, it has become a dumping ground of unnecessary images and videos that are received mostly on WhatsApp. The overfilled gallery not only eats up the space of our phone but also makes it irksome for us to search for the favourite photo with our friend or an important screenshot we took a few days back.
Honestly, WhatsApp is here to be blamed since the Facebook-owned messaging app is a breeding ground of all the media files that pile up on gallery and kills the visibility of other necessary photos. But, worry not we have got your back, given below are the steps to hide or restrict WhatsApp images appearing on your iPhone or Android smartphone’s gallery.
How to hide Whatsapp images on iPhone gallery
iPhone users can head to the “Settings option”, tap on “Privacy”, click on “Photos” and disable WhatsApp. This will restrict all the downloaded images to appear in your main gallery. Similarly, you can untick other apps say Instagram, Skype, Snapchat to hide the images sourcing from them.
How to hide WhatsApp images on Android Gallery
To prohibit WhatsApp images appear on your Android phone’s gallery, you will be required to head to the "File manager app" provided on your smartphone. Alternatively, you can also install a different app such as MK File Explorer, ES File Explorer, X-plore File Manager, if your device does not have an in-built File manager app.
On successfully launching the app, search for the WhatsApp media folder by navigating to Home > SD card > WhatsApp > Media. On clicking the “Media” folder you will see another folder inside of it named “WhatsApp images”. You will simply have to change the name of the “WhatsApp images” folder to “.WhatsApp images” and then you will no longer be able to see WhatsApp images appearing on your Android's phone gallery.
