How to delete all of the contacts on your iPhone with a few taps - techgo

  • Deleting contacts off your iPhone one at a time can be a painstaking process, especially if you want to clear out many contacts at once.
  • You could download various apps to help you delete contacts faster, but even that takes time.
  • The following method for deleting all the contacts on your iPhone - via the iCloud tab in the Settings app - takes only a few seconds, but if you haven't previously saved the contact information you wish to keep, it might be irretrievably lost.
There are a number of good reasons you should know how to delete all contacts on an iPhone. The number one reason is that you plan to sell or donate your iPhone, and you don't want the next owner to have access to all your contacts. You also may have just bought a phone and want to wipe it clean yourself. Returning a phone used for work is yet another reason to delete all contacts.
And finally, you may have simply become fed up with all the unused contacts cluttering your contact list and taking up space on your device; deleting all the contacts off an iPhone and then adding back those few you actually need might just be the cleanest, simplest way to clean up your phone.
But deleting contacts off an iPhone may well mean losing them forever, so wipe the phone clean only after careful consideration. And before you do so, consider downloading an app like Contact Cleanup, which allows you to scroll through your contacts, tap on those you want to remove, and delete in a big batch.
