WhatsApp rolls out group privacy settings and others to its Business app

The group privacy settings, that were rolled out earlier this month, allow users to decide who can add them to a group on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is changing. And we are just not talking about its main app that caters billions of users across the globe but also about its business app that caters to businesses and is relatively new. Last month the company introduced a new short link feature for businesses on iPhones that allowed their users to connect with them simply by typing on a link. The feature also included a default message. Now the company is planning to bring its group privacy settings on to its Business app.
The news comes as a courtesy of WABetaInfo that tracks developments in the app. As per the information shared by the blog on Twitter, the beta version 2.19.40 of the WhatsApp Business app -- WhatsApp Business Beta for Android - is getting the group privacy settings. This means that users will be able decide who would be able to add them into group on Facebook's social messaging app.
To recall, Facebook, earlier this month, rolled out group privacy settings on to its platform. The feature gave users the options as to select who - everyone, my contacts and nobody - could add them to a group. Now the company is bringing the same feature on to its business app.
Verified account
But that's not it as another update from the blog makes us believe that WhatsApp has grand plans for its business app. Apparently, WhatsApp has a secret official verified Business account. It features a white tick on a green background, which is quite similar to Twitter's verified account feature that comes with a white tick on a blue backdrop.
The blog notes that WhatsApp is not monitoring messages exchanged in its business app right now but that might change if the popular social messaging app decides to roll out this feature to all the users of its business app. However, the plans remain uncertain for now.
Notification stickers
In addition to this, WhatsApp has also rolled out support for notification stickers in WhatsApp Beta for iOS. The update is available as a part of version 2.19.50.21 of WhatsApp's beta app for iOS and iPhone users will now be able to see stickers in the notification bar of their devices.
