Internet search behemoth, Google on Wednesday (May 1, 2019) has finally succumbed before the pro data privacy uprising and decided to prepare new privacy tools which will enable its user to erase data like location history, web and app activity; periodically from the company's server.
The users can now have their location data deleted after a three month or 18 month period, as per their choice, the company said. The change can, now, allow its users to have more control over their personal information.
Google Plus social network, too, has been phased out recently following the privacy challenges which exposed the personal data of half a million of user across the world.
Tech- giant Alphabet Inc's owned, Google collects the colossal amount of data about individual movements, choices and preferences and sells it to the advertisers. The company then earns a huge revenue with the help of its user's data.
The controversy behind Google privacy:
Last year, the Associated Press reported that Google apps and websites were collecting user's location data even when they had turned off location history. To which Google in its response added, "With Location History off, the places you go are no longer stored."

How to delete your Google location:
Step 1: Open your Google account
Step 2: Tap Data & personalization
Step 3: Tap Web & App Activity under Activity Controls
Step 4: Select," Choose to delete automatically"
Step 5: Tap to choose how long to keep Web & App Activity
Step 6: Select either 18 months or 3 months, and save
