Netflix is trying hard to increase its presence in the Indian market. The company has now introduced weekly mobile-focused plans to garner the attention of the large audience present on the devices. The new weekly plans introduced by the company starts at Rs 65 per week. New subscribers can usually get the 30-day free trial on Netflix. Before this announcement was made, the cheapest monthly plan started at Rs 500.
The new plan introduced by Netflix takes away a few features that are available in the more expensive subscription packs. The mobile-focused pack can only be used on a single device, either a mobile or tablet. The user can not stream videos in HD. The Rs 65 weekly plan billed for a month costs around Rs 250, which is half the price of the earlier subscription cost.
We will have to wait and see if the new subscription method works for the online streaming platform. India has been a hard sell when it comes to streaming services and Netflix, being one of the more expensive ones, has suffered greatly. But, as of now, it is one of the few online streaming services to offer up a weekly plan for its users. Which streaming service do you use? Will this announcement finally convince you to pay for that Netflix subscription? Let us know in the comments below.
