we have seen many new technologies related to smartphones, which are now going to be in focus in the coming times. From 5G connectivity to folding smartphones, companies are now making users aware of many attractive technologies. Although some of these technologies are such, which have been introduced only this year, but have not fully reached the people. This year, we saw that smartphone companies have completely focused on technologies like in-display fingerprint sensor, punch hole display or pop-up selfie camera, 90Hz refresh rate display. Now we are going to tell you about those technologies, which will be seen in a big way in smartphones in 2020.
The world is eagerly waiting for 5G technology
In 2019, 5G was introduced in some countries. However, this technology has been introduced in a few areas. Currently the number of smartphones supporting 5G is also quite low, but this year 5G technology will be launched in many other countries as well. In such a situation, all smartphone companies are preparing to launch their 5G smartphones. Companies like Realme, Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei have launched their 5G phones, but in 2020 all smartphone companies will launch their smartphones with 5G support.
Foldable phone or multiscreen smartphone
This year we have seen not one, but many foldable devices, but none of these foldable devices have been launched at affordable prices. Samsung started the trend of foldable devices all over the world with Galaxy Fold. Huawei has introduced its Mate X foldable device and Motorola has introduced the Razr foldable phone and on the other hand companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Realme have also indicated that they are working on the foldable device. LG has also recently launched the G8X ThinQ Dual Screen phone for Rs 49,999. Although it is not a foldable device, this device comes with a case cover with an additional display. This suggests that we may see many new foldable devices or multi-screen devices in 2020.
Artificial Intelligence and 3D Mapping
AI or Artificial Intelligence is no longer a completely new technology. For the past few years, we are seeing this technology on smartphones. However till now this technology was only being used in camera, battery or RAM management. However, this year we can see many features like AR or 3D mapping in smartphones. The Google Pixel 4 Series is a direct example of all these technologies. Google has given radar in this phone, which operates the phone with the gestures of the users. We hope that this year smartphone companies can make this technology work faster.
User Health and Welfare Features
Smartphone addiction is increasing rapidly around the world at this time. In such a situation, Google launched an initiative in 2019, in which a tool has been created for users, which will help in ridding their smartphone addiction. This feature has been launched as Digital Wellbeing. Similarly, many companies are now working on health features keeping in mind the health of users. For example to give option of dark mode or night mode to reduce the effect of smartphone on the eyes. Now in 2020, all companies will focus on providing self-developed user health and welfare features in their phones.
Display technology
So far we have seen 90Hz display and 120Hz refresh rate display in the smartphone. Even the screen-to-body ratio of smartphones is increasing. Xiaomi showed a phone last year in which the company has given a surround display. The display in this phone goes not only to the front but also towards the back of the roam. Now even in 2020, companies will fully focus on display technology. There is no doubt that in the coming time we may get to see 4K panel or 100 percent screen-to-body ratio in our smartphone.
