At Gamescom 2018, Dell and Alienware have introduced new gaming laptops along with updates to its Alienware gaming monitors.
At Gamescom 2018 in Cologne, Germany, Dell has announced a range of products from its Alienware brand. These products are based on the newly announced NVIDIA RTX 20 series of GPUs and thereby making them able to deliver excellent performance for VR experiences and video games. Apart from the new product launches, Dell has also introduced a new software application and training platform.

At Gamescom, visitors can partake in Alienware Academy, a free-to-use online training platform to help hopeful athletes learn to competitively game like an esports pro. Taught by the pros from Team Liquid its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive courses teach mechanics and strategies to improve gameplay by using Tobii eye-tracking gaze overlay, heatmaps, stats and other tools. This helps aspiring athletes improve their skills, strive toward goals, gain post-lesson insights, and measure their performance against the community.
Alienware Command Center
At CES 2018, Alienware debuted Alienware Command Center, a “gaming homepage” that merges system settings, content, and other functions. Available now, Alienware Command Center is included free with all Alienware peripherals and can be used on any PC system. By featuring an integrated dashboard, gaming library, FX and power management features, this new feature provides quick, easy access to an entire gaming catalogue and the ability to fine-tune settings for every title.
Dell 24-inch and 27-inch gaming monitors
Dell has introduced new 24-inch and 27-inch monitors that come with fast refresh rates of 144MHz for the 24-inch and 155Hz for the 27-inch. They offer 1ms response time for a minimum input lag. Both deliver a fluid gaming experience offering gamers the flexibility to switch on or off AMD FreeSync. Users can customize up to three user-defined profiles and choose preset modes for a personalized gaming experience. Dell Gaming 24 and 27 monitors available in North America and the Asia Pacific region beginning on August 28, starting at $319.99 (approximately Rs 22,356) for 24 and $549.99 (about Rs 38,425.05) for 27.
Alienware Aurora and Area 51 updates
The Alienware Aurora will be available with the just-announced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti GPUs. As a mid-tower desktop, Aurora is designed for gaming professionals who need performance and upgradability. Alienware’s flagship gaming desktop—Area-51, also will be available with just announced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, 2080 and 2080 Ti GPUs and feature up to 18-core Intel processors. Alienware Area 51 with NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs will be available in early September.
Alienware 15 and 17 gaming laptops
Alienware 15 and 17 now feature per-key LED lighting for more than 80 quadrillion lighting combos with countless effects and modes. The upgraded TactX keyboard and n-key rollover enable more than 100 key commands for maximum actions per minute, and Dell claims that it’s the only keyboard on a laptop with 2.2mm of key travel, that helps in providing rapid keystroke response. Alienware 15 and 17 with per-key LED lighting available from August 21, starting at USD 1,399.99 (about Rs 97,880.30) for 15 and USD 1,599.99 (about Rs 1,11,863.30) for 17.
