Keep limited hardware radios on

In all the phones despite of their prices, LTE, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are present. We use these features very frequently and what we forget to do is to turn off the radio feature which we don't require all the time. Let me give you an example. Wifi is what people need mainly for data usage which is completely fine but GPS is what we don't need all the time. You must turn this off when you are not navigating.

Screen brightness

When you are sitting inside your office or any indoor place, you don't need to keep brightness at 100-90% level as your phone's screen will be visible even if you keep the brightness at 20-30% range. When you are standing under direct sun light then you actually need to keep brightness level high for better visibility. Screen is the biggest battery eater in your phone if you don't keep the brightness in control. Also you should keep automatic brightness feature on to avoid manually setting the brightness every time you go under direct sunlight.

Keep eyes on background apps

Now a days all the phones comes with 2 GB or more RAM. This allows you to run multiple apps simultaneously without any hiccups. However, the running apps in the background keeps sucking your battery juice and eventually you see the your battery is dying. The best practice to improve battery performance is to keep closing the apps you don't need all the time.

Use static wallpaper instead of live wallpapers

Live wallpaper look beautiful but draws lot of battery juice. If possible use static wallpaper and choose darker one. The light
colour wallpaper are more power consuming than the darker wallpaper.

Extra power saving mode
These days almost all the phone manufacturers are giving extra power saving mode feature. Use this feature if the above mentioned tips do not help your phone to survive full day. This feature actually turns off the all unnecessary features automatically.
