WhatsApp is also working on Consecutive voice messages that would play consecutive voice messages automatically.

WhatsApp is arguably one of the most popular social messaging apps in the world. It's user-friendly user interface coupled with its ability to keep adding new and interesting features on to its app has made it one of the highly used social messaging platforms in the world. From utility features such as voice chats and picture-in-picture (PIP mode) to the creative ones like Doodle and GIFs, WhatsApp today offers countless features that makes using the app a bit more fun.
Despite offering an array of creative features that are enjoyed by its users, the Facebook-owned company is constantly updating its platform, adding functionality that make using the app a tid bit swift. Day after day, we keep on hearing about the updates that the company is planning to bring to its Android app.
So here we have compiled a list of functions that are coming to WhatsApp's Android app in the days to come:
1) Dark Mode: Dark Mode is one of the most awaited features of the app. WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, first shared details of the feature last week. Initial reports suggested that the company had started building its UI - the Settings section - of the app in the dark mode. Today we know that WhatsApp has built the status bar and profile section of the app in the dark mode. Though the company hasn't listed an official launch date yet, however, given the stream of updates on the feature, WhatsApp should roll out the feature on its Android app soon.
2) Forwarding Info: This feature is designed to help the company take on fake news and it first spotted by the blog almost two weeks ago. The forwarding info feature allows users to check how many times have they forwarded a to another users in the app and it is available on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.19.86.
3) PIP mode: WhatsApp is planning to bring the second version of its picture-in-picture mode to its Android app. This feature would enable WhatsApp users to watch Facebook, Instagram or YouTube videos on their smartphones even when WhatsaApp was running in the background. The version of the app that is available right now does not allow users to switch from chat window without closing the video.
4) Consecutive voice messages: Another feature coming to WhatsApp's Android app soon is consecutive voice messages. As of now, users need to tap to play every voice message that they have received. The feature that is available as a part of WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.19.86 changes that by automatically playing the consecutive voice messages.
5) Authentication: This feature essentially adds a layer of security on the app by using a phone fingerprint sensor to lock the app. It is available as a part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.19.83 and it can be enabled by tapping on the Privacy option in the Account Settings.
Bonus: Apart from the above mentioned features, WhatsApp is working on a frequently forwarded feature that shows a 'frequently forwarded' label on the top left hand corner of a message that has been forwarded more than four times.
