Xiaomi is planning to refresh its TV and home products line-up for 2019 with new and radical additions. Here's all that you can expect Xiaomi to launch at the April 23 event.
One of the fastest growing consumer electronics brands in the world, Xiaomi, has been working overtime to help it maintain the momentum which it has gained over the last year or so. During this period, the Chinese tech giant has launched a number of products -- including smart TVs, washing machines and even security solutions for smart homes.
And now the company is looking to add to this list a number of new products at a launch event slated to take place on April 23. General manager of Xiaomi TV Department, Xiao Xiaoshuang recently took to Weibo to announce that the company has some new products in the pipeline which will be announced this month.
This was followed by Xiaomi's TV arm officially releasing a teaser poster announcing the launch of its 2019 line-up at a conference it plans to hold in Beijing on April 23. However, that's not all. The company has also released more posters in its home country, hinting at how it could not only unveil new TVs, but also some new home products at the event. A report published in Gizchina suggests Xiaomi could launch as many as eight home products -- including table lamps, smart scales, speakers, TV boxes and other products -- at the event.
But what's most interesting are suggestions that the company could announce a major upgrade to its smart TV line-up in the form of a double-sided TV. This is because the promotional teasers launched by Xiaomi claim that Xiaomi's big-ticket announcement will be "double-sided art".
This has led to the speculation that Xiaomi could launch a new dual-screen TV with panels on the back and front of the unit. Another less radical interpretation of Xiaomi's teaser is that this could be in some way related to the TVs remote getting an upgrade.
While the latter would make more sense considering that a two panel TV would make little sense for conventional use cases. Yet, we wouldn't put it past Xiaomi to spring a surprise and do the unthinkable in a bid to change how we use our TVs. Either way, we're in for some interesting products being announced, many of which should soon make way to India as ours represents a crucial market for Xiaomi.
