WhatsApp Payments Moves Closer to India Launch

WhatsApp is one of the most popular and one of the biggest messaging apps in the space right now and it has a clear set of rules to ensure seamless, end-to-end encrypted communication. Irs terms of service clearly define how you should use the app and sets a standard in place.
However, if these terms are violated, WhatsApp can ban you. If that happens, there are a set of things you can do:

Figure out why you might have been banned

There is no one reason for which WhatsApp might have banned your user account. WhatsApp can ban a user temporarily or permanently for violating the terms of service. One of the most common reasons for getting banned revolve around using third-party knock-offs of the WhatsApp app or for using tools to bypass app restrictions and send messages in bulk.
With WhatsApp banning bulk messaging, both these tricks are often used and it creates a host of security issues says WhatsApp. These third-party apps and tools are usually installed to add functionality to the messaging app.
People often install ‘modded copies’ of WhatsApp like GBWhatsApp and WhatsApp Plus for added customizations and functionalities to the app. While it is useful, it is impossible to ‘validate the security practices being employed for these third-party platforms’. They could compromise encrypted messages, and WhatsApp is big on its end-to-end encryption, and that is why using them could lead to your account being banned.

Are you bulk messaging?

WhatsApp banned bulk messages recently when it faced flack for fake news and for being used as a tool for political propaganda. Bulk messaging on WhatsApp violates its terms of service now and the company has limited forwards (of messages) to five chats.
However, users have been using third-party tools to bypass this five forward limit, especially during elections, leading to many accounts being banned. If you have been using a third-party hack for multiple forwards, and your account has not been banned yet, we suggest you stop immediately.

How do you get your account back?

If your account has been banned thanks to these third-party hacks and apps, it’s probably a temporary ban and you can get back on WhastApp without too much trouble (in most cases). You essentially need to switch to the legitimate means of using WhatsApp.
And that means you need to stop using the tools for bulk messaging and uninstall the fake WhatsApp mods and start using the official version and stick to its rules.
First, back up your chats on the fake version of the app by going to Options, then Chats and clicking on Back up chats. You need to locate this folder on your phone and rename it ‘WhatsApp’. Now, uninstall the app and download the official WhatsApp app from the Play Store or the App Store. You can restore all your old chats from that folder you named ‘WhatsApp’ when prompted.
However, if this does not fix it and you think that you might have been banned without actually having violated any of the terms, you can write to the company at andoid_web@support.whatsapp.com and they will look into the matter.
You can also be banned on WhatsApp if your account has been reported for abuse. In which case, shame on you, and it depends on the company what it decides to do with your access.
