Whatsapp status is an easy way to show that what you are doing as a lot of photos or a short video, will eventually become the source of revenue for Facebook. California-based company, Menlo Park, is ready to start advertising on WhatsAppSpace next year. This parent is not something new to the social networking company, who had seen heavy criticism of data abuse by UK-based Cambridge Analyca earlier this year. Facebook brought a similar advertising service model to Instagram stories in June.
Report of the Wall Street Journal, citing whitspeed officials, Whatsapp will start showing ads next year. Ads will be run by the original advertising system of Facebook and will help users familiarize with "Businesses with Business" on WhatSaP. Facebook is using advertisements in Instagram stories as a model to give advertisements through Whatsapp status. As quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Matt Edema, Chief Operating Officer of Whatsapp said, "We have done it well on Instagram and so we are learning a lot from it."
Serving advertisements through WhatsApp is understandable for Facebook because the feature hit 450 million benchmarks, as CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted in the F8 Developer Conference in May. Unlike regular conversations, WhatsApp Speed allows users to share multiple photos or a small video that lives in a separate section on the app for 24 hours. Facebook also gives users the option to see how many of their contacts have seen their status. It's something that can give advertisers a way to keep track of their ads.
Whatsapp Status Launched in February last year is inspired by snapchat stories. However, the snapchat is behind whitspeak when it comes to user base, counting only 191 million daily active users (by this year) - something very important for advertisers to celebrate.
In addition to using WhatsApp as a revenue source, Facebook will use the Whitespace business largely as a major revenue-driven model. The Wall Street Journal reports that the company will introduce new advertising types so that users can know that they can directly do text companies via Whatsapp for any customer service questions. It has been said in the report that the company will charge for every message given to Whataspe users - on the basis of the country - half penny and 9 cents (about 34 paisa to 6.2 rupees).
About 100 companies are testing Ad-centric features including Uber and Singapore Airlines. Whatsapp Business App, which is available on both Android and iOS platforms for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), has more than three million users. Companies like Netflix and Bookmix were one of the initial testing partners for the WhitSAP for Business Initiative which began in India in September last year before attracting STE to the What'sapp Business App.
Facebook's total revenue growth has decreased, though its user base in the second quarter has reached 2.23 billion monthly active users. Zuckerberg-led company has also warned that revenue growth is expected to fall in the next few quarters because it is promoting new and some less profitable products.
