Having the right keyboard on your smartphone is crucial, as you’re using your smartphone keyboard all the time. Most Android devices come with Google’s very own keyboard pre-installed, it’s called Gboard, and it’s one of the best out there, but there are so many other options to choose from. The first keyboard on the list is Google’s very own offering, Gboard. This keyboard was once known as ‘Google Keyboard’, but Google decided to change its name a while back. This keyboard supports Glide Typing, to make typing with one hand easier, while it comes with voice typing as well. SwiftKey is one of the most popular keyboard applications out there, and it is one of the best out there as well. SwiftKey got acquired by Microsoft a while back, but the company continued on improving this keyboard. SwiftKey uses AI to learn your writing style, and that includes emojis, while you can simply swipe from one key to the other to utilize ‘SwiftKey Flow’, which is similar to Google’s Glide Typing. Various themes are available in this app as well, and the app has bilingual autocorrect across over 300 languages.

Chrooma Keyboard is inspired by Gboard, for sure, but it brings a lot more functionality. Chrooma actually allows you to completely edit the look of your keyboard, while it also has the ‘Adaptive Theme’, thanks to which it can pick up a color from the app you’re in, so for example, if you’re using Hangouts, your keyboard will be green-colored. GIFs and emoji are supported here, while there are a ton of customization options available on the inside as well.

TouchPal is one of the oldest and most popular keyboards for Android, and it actually comes pre-installed on a ton of smartphones out there. This keyboard comes with 5,000+ free themes, and over 300 emoji, gits, stickers and pop smileys. TouchPal has one of the best writing predictions out there, and it supports multilingual typing as well. This app is fully integrated with Wear OS as well, in case you were wondering.

You can theme Go Keyboard any way you like, as it has over 10,000 themes at your disposal. Fleksy is a bit different than most other keyboards on the list. This app puts a huge emphasis on privacy and gestures.
